Welcome to the new Mitchell Music website

This is where you can see what our Mitchell Musicians are up to! Use the tabs at the top of this page to navigate. Announcements will be placed below. We are going to do great things this year!

Volunteer: We will have many mini-musicals and music programs going on this year. Please use the link below to sign up to help. We will need some crafty people to help with costumes, backgrounds, posters, props, and much more. We will also need help the day of performances to help students get into costumes and prep the night of the performance. Setting up and breaking down the stage, risers, and chairs will also need some wonderful volunteers. Please click the link below to share your contact information with Ms. Hudson and choose the ways you would like to help.

AMPs Quarter #2 Schedule:

AMPs is on a 3-day rotation. Each class has Art, Music, and PE for three days and then rotates to the next special. See the schedule to the left to find the dates and times your child has each special. Find your child's teacher's name and then look down the column to the current date.

We have three teachers from PEAK who come to Mitchell to teach a rotation of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. Shawn Phelan teaches PE, Megan Peters teaches Art, and Curtis Westbrook teaches Music. Feel free to contact any of us or the office if you have any questions or need any more information.

Hello,

My name is Kristina Hudson, and I am very happy to be the music teacher at Mitchell Elementary.

I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and have always been interested in music. Throughout elementary, junior high, and high school I was in band, choir, and theater. My inspiration to become a music teacher was my high school band and choir directors. They taught me so much about life through music. I continued on as a music education major at the University of Northern Colorado. I have taught elementary music for 14 years, and I am excited for the many years to come!

My goal is to inspire students to become the best person and musician they can, and to follow their dreams. Music is a wonderful opportunity to talk about life, love, acceptance, perseverance, and becoming your best self. It is a wonderful creative outlet that helps students think deeper and widen their view of the world.
