Grades 2-4

It is recommended students in grades 2 through 4 use a modified process for changing their passwords; however they are not required to change their passwords at this time. Once these passwords are reset, the following systems are automatically updated with the new password: Google Apps, Student Portal (i.e. Campus), and JeffcoSchoology.

In the Campus JPS Password Reset tool, teachers have the option of resetting student passwords to an existing password, helping students create their own passwords, or creating passwords for the student.

Note: New students will have a system generated password once they are enrolled in Campus.

Below are ideas to assist teachers in managing student passwords throughout the school year for grades 2nd through 4th:


Ideas for managing student passwords in 2nd through 4th grades:

Idea One:

    • Create mailing labels with student name, ID, and passwords that can easily be affixed to index cards.
    • Provide access to index cards as computers are used for the remainder of the school year.
    • Index cards can be collected at the end of the school year and dispersed at the beginning of the the school year once classroom assignments have been finalized.

Idea Two:

    • Create popsicle sticks (or similar) with student name, ID, and passwords
    • Provide access to popsicle sticks as computers are used for the remainder of the school year.
    • Popsicle sticks can be collected at the end of the school year and reused at the beginning of the school year once classroom assignments have been finalized.

Idea Three:

    • Incorporate using the new password into a system or structure you are already using in your classroom. Ideas include:
      • adding to a library card
      • pocket chart for attendance (add to card)
